Jeweled Eyes Set in Stone:

From May 18, 2019.

Jeweled eyes set in stone,

Topaz like the sunny sun,

Ruby as the rose is red,

Aquamarine like the waters clear,

Sapphire such as the distant mountains blue,

Emerald as the forest is green green green,

Onyx blends into the night,

Many jeweled eyes look out,

Survey the nature of the world,

Jeweled eyes are set in stone.

Who Am I?

And yet another nature poem from several years ago. I do love nature.

Who Am I?:

Dark is the night,

Bright is the day,

Rolling are the hills,

Rocky are the mountains,

Swift is the wind,

Gentle is the breeze,

Dark and bright,

Rolling and rocky,

Swift and gentle,

I sweep by,

I hover you,

I fly by you,

I am of this world—and not of it,

I show it to you with the light,

And I protect you.

Nature

One of my nature poems written several years ago.

Nature:

The winds of time blow through the land,

The water of ages past rushes along its many rivers and streams,

The oceans and seas rise and fall—they cast their occupants about,

The sun beats down,

The moon glows bright white,

Nature’s people rush here and there for a storm comes on,

And so Mother Destiny intervenes and saves us all.

Flying Over the Lake at the Crescent Moon

534071_10151041839421584_1524750151_nThis is a drawing based on the picture of a lake with mountains in the background and the crescent moon reflecting into the lake, with a shooting star above the owl. The owl is cut out from another picture and taped on to this picture. It’s one of my favorites, because of the owl, the different levels of shading, and just everything about this picture I love. It represents my love of nature.

Beauty of Land and Sky

A 2007 nature poem.

Beauty of Land and Sky:

Skies open up to let out the new day,

Sun shines down with golden rays,

A clear blue sky is shown today,

Winds ruffle the trees,

The air sweet as orange blossoms,

The trees with perfect brown trunks and green green leaves,

The ground covered in green grass soft to bare feet,

I look around me and see beauty throughout the land and in the sky,

And wonder how can this be—this beauty of land and sky?

River Runs

This was written in 2005 also.

River Runs:

River runs high,

River runs low,

River runs fast,

River runs slow,

River runs clear,

River runs dark,

River runs over the land to its own mark.

The Desert

Written back in 2005 on a poem-writing spree.

The Desert:

The sands of time cover the land,

The dunes are high,

They tower like the ancient mountains that have never been seen,

The sun beats down on the earth,

It burns brightly,

It scorches the earth,

The heat is year long during the day,

There is terrible cold during the night,

The stars shine brightly in the open sky,

The sky and the land show their wildness,

And reflect it in the people.

The Children of Mother Nature

Another nature poem written back around 2005.

The Children of Mother Nature:

The mountains stand as giants,

The rivers and streams sing,

The wind whistles,

The trees whip back and forth,

The rain thunders down,

The thunder booms,

The lightning gives a wild light show,

The hills roll here and there,

And Mother Nature speaks to those who will listen through her children.

Stormy Seas

This was written around 2005 and is one of my favorite nature poems.

Stormy Seas:

Stormy seas you roil so,

You toss and turn,

You heave and throw,

You’re rough,

You’re brutal,

You’re tough,

You are mighty and majestic,

You command respect,

You show us all,

That the stormy seas are to be respected and admired.
