Wings of Hope

A fantasy poem I wrote in 2004.

Wings of Hope:

Shining, bright, and gleaming,

Golden brilliance—golden light,

Blue, blue sky—a white winged horse flying by,

Beautiful blue eyes shining with freedom,

White mane and tail flying,

Gleaming white body—shine shine shine,

Golden hooves kicked up in fun-loving joy,

White feathered wings flap hard in happiness,

White wings of hope—of freedom,

Brought to the oppressed,

Wings of Hope lifts those up in need of hope,

And dashes down the unjust,

Wings of Hope, gives hope to us all.

The Ladies of the Night

I don’t remember what fantasy book I was reading at the time I wrote this, but this poem was inspired by whatever that book was. This was written in 2005.

The Ladies of the Night

They appear out of the mist,

Cloaks of night shroud them,

Long black dresses of darkness cover them–giving form to their shapes,

Eyes glow golden, hair is coal black with blue shimmers,

Walking silently on the wooded ground, mist covering the earth, they haunt our dreams–ghosts of dark beauty passing through the dark mist,

Ladies of the Night, come forth–show us your dark beauty.

Unicorns

A 2007 fantasy poem.

Unicorns:

They come in the darkness of the night,

The moonlight shining down on their pure-white coats,

They step into the pool of moonlight—silver hooves making no sound on the leaf-strewn forest floor,

Their white horns gleam in the moon’s light—they shine with a brilliance unknown to all,

They toss their heads, mane flying,

The moon’s light touching on it—making it shine,

Their tails swish back and forth—noiseless,

They walk through the forest, silver hooves noiselessly touching the forest’s floor,

They shine, they gleam, they make their presence known to us—by a silver hoof print in the dirt,

They protect us, though not showing themselves to us,

They are from myth and legend,

They are unseen guardian angels from the mist,

That is their home—and there they will stay protecting and helping us from afar.

Lords of the Skies

A fantasy poem that I wrote in 2007.

Lords of the Skies:

Flying high,

Diving by,

Roaring fire,

Wings outspread,

Scales sparkle like bygone jewels,

Talons sharp as knives,

Spikes rock hard and deadly sharp as the sword,

They soar on wings outspread,

They glide,

They circle,

Tails whip back and forth,

Flames spew out of their mouths,

Orange jets—blue jets—amber jets—of flame,

They are dragons,

They are the lords of the skies.
